About us
We do not play any league games and therefore play friendly games only, mainly 20/20 on Friday nights and also some weekend fixtures. Our team attracts a diverse group of individuals, from talented cricketers to those who just love playing the game and all the surrounding elements. We play cricket for fun, mainly against teams that share the simple belief that the game is about enjoyment for all concerned, so that when next day comes, they want to play again.
Club Ethos - How to play the sunset way
- Winning is important but not to the detriment of any player's enjoyment of the game.
- Captains should encourage the opposition skippers to play the 25-runs-and-retire rule and the 2, 3 or 4 over for each bowlers rule.
- All players should be given an opportunities to bat and bowl during the game ensuring they will want to play again and again.
- All players should be given an opportunities to bat and bowl during the game ensuring they will want to play again and again.
- We look for each player to have done something special during the game, either runs scored, wickets taken, catches held or run-outs achieved.
- We play fair cricket, respect our opponents and play the game for the enjoyment of both teams.
- We are fortunate to have captains at this Club who understand and enjoy playing in a manner befitting the above guidelines.
